Is your opportunity actually right in front of you?

Many people are amazed by those who are successful in business. Many treat it like it is a science, or there is a secret code that has to be unlocked with a special key… which is only reserved for a select few.

I have watched interviews on Youtube with business people where the interviewer is in awe of the entrepreneur they are interviewing. Granted, some of these people have built large businesses, but the entrepreneur would clearly know that there is no science to it.

The entrepreneur simply had the guts to step out, take a chance, work incredibly hard, with no guarantees of success, and they put themselves in a position to make something amazing happen.

Opportunity is everywhere and successful people know how to not only spot an opportunity, but then go and apply it.

Perfectionists need not apply.

If you’re waiting for the perfect conditions to step out, then you’re already viewing success from the wrong perspective. There are no perfect conditions, no absolute right time, and certainly no guarantees. However, there are massive payoffs that can come from finding an idea and making something of it.

Ecclesiastes 11:4 tells us: “Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.”

But if you’re standing on the sidelines and you feel like everyone else is getting ahead, but you’re not, then step on to the field, seek out opportunities around you, and get started. You will not only learn on the run, but you will adjust your model on the run too.

Once you get moving and your idea evolves, you will chop and change and cut some things and add others, but the operative word here is moving. Even in our sprawling company, a major part of my job is to every day seek out new opportunities and also refine everything we do across different divisions.

Business is like being in an ocean: it never stands still. That said, there is always new opportunities.

Is your opportunity right in front of you? Absolutely, and there are probably several. So get to work in not only seeking them out, but then moving into action.
